United States – American President Donald Trump announced yesterday that his 2020 campaign and the Republican National Committee raised more than USD 76 million in the month of April, about half of which came from small donors, as reported by Reuters.

Impressive Fundraising Figures

The March USD 65.6 million that Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, and the RNC – the fundraising arm of the Republican party – had raised was surpassed by the monthly fundraising haul that Biden acquired.

Biden’s Fundraising Success

“The evidence is compelling – ‘There will be no letup’. Our base is fired, and we are energized. The Republican Party is united, and voters nationwide are ready to FIRE Joe Biden and elect Donald J. Trump,” said Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles.

Joe Biden, the Democratic aspirant, has repeatedly won compared to the original budget.

The announcement was made on Saturday, with the Trump and RNC hosting a retreat in Florida for donors, contributors, and prominent office seekers, including the vice-presidential candidates, as reported by Reuters.

Balancing Act

The event was intended to provide Trump with an additional fundraising boost, which has been infused with legal fees, and to soothe some donors’ nerves who may be worried that Trump would be more engrossed with the criminal trial in Manhattan that concerns the hush-money payment to adult movie actress, Stormy Daniels.
