United States – The United States is on a heightened state of alert, and it is preparing for possible attacks by Iran that are targeting any Israeli or American property in the region in revenge for the Israeli strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria, a U.S. spokesperson said on Friday.
“We’re definitely in a high state of vigilance,” the official said as he confirmed the CNN report saying that the terror attack could come as early as next week, as reported by Reuters.
Israeli Strike
The first strike targeted Syria’s embassy in Damascus; Israeli warplanes are believed to be the perpetrators, claiming the death of an Iranian military commander and representing a serious escalation in the Israeli Syrian conflict.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran issued a statement that seven Iranian military advisers were killed in the attack, and the commanding officer of the Quds Forces, which is a paramilitary external arm of the Guards, was among them and his name is Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
According to Iran, it is entitled “to take a decisive response.”
Support for Israel
President of the United States Joe Biden addressed the matter concerning Iran in a phone call with Benjamin personally a premier of Israel last Thursday.
“Our teams have been in regular and continuous contact since then. The United States fully supports the defense of Israel against threats from Iran,” a senior Biden administration official said.
